Qualifying is over and it is Brawn’s Jenson Button on pole position. Alongside Button is team mate Rubens Barrichello. Both have won before, Jenson at the 2006 Hungarian Grand Prix with the Honda team that eventually became Brawn, and Rubens many times with the Ferrari team. Of course, Ferrari’s technical director from the time when Barrichello scored those wins is now the team owner at Brawn, so the relationships are certainly interesting. But who can win tomorrow afternoon?
Could Sebastian Vettel get the legs on the Brawns at the start, or could Robert Kubica show decent pace in the BMW? Nico Rosberg has impressed during Free Practice and Qualifying, and the young German scored a fine podium at Albert Park last year. Glock, if on a decent strategy could find himself on the podium, although perhaps more of an outside chance at victory. You cannot discount the Ferraris in seventh and ninth, and Mark Webber cold be overflowing with fuel in tenth.
Have you say, who’s your favourite to win the 2009 Australian Grand Prix.
