As the Formula One season kicks up a gear with races being more evenly spread over the summer, June also means one other important event for motor racing fans: Goodwood Festival of Speed. Held in Hampshire at the country house and its surrounding grounds, circuit and hill climb course, all manner of cars will be on display and driven. Lewis Hamilton is expected to make an appearance, as well as the other three British drivers on the 2007 grid; Jenson Button, David Coulthard and Anthony Davidson.
I have never attended the Festival myself, but having read about the Sidepodcast crews experience last year, decided I wasn’t going to miss out in 2007. Also attending the event will be 1996 World Champion and BRDC President Damon Hill, Allan McNish, Mark Webber and a whole host of cars and bikes from a variety of eras of motorsport. I’m looking forward to it greatly, and plan to attend all three days.
It also be nice to meet other people who plan on going as well, so this post is also an invitation to you, fellow Formula One bloggers and readers. If you’re attending the 2007 show and want to wax lyrical about your sport with like-minded folks, leave a comment below stating which day/days you’ll be there, and maybe we can all synchronise our schedules and meet up somewhere.
If you don’t have time for a chin-wag, be sure to at least introduce yourself and shake my hand if you see me – it is always nice to put a face to the many names who comment here and blog elsewhere. My ugly mug can be found in this post.
[…] brittiska Goodwood Festival of Speed, som har desto mer anknytning till Formel 1. Oliver White på ollief1.com har bestämt sig för att delta där i år, så håll koll där för […]
we’ll be there, we’ll have a camera though.
the question is…do you want to be on Sidepodcast TV?
I only get of bed for £10k dear…! [/laughter]
You’d be filming everything? S’pose it wouldn’t bother me, providing I got a plug in. [/shameless_whore] I’m not very pretty ya’know.
