Ferrari have set up up a micro-site dedicated to their new 2008 challenger, the F2008. The site shows footage from launches dating back to 2005 and promises lots of information detailing the new car as well as some multimedia content, likely to be just photos though. The images currently on display can only be downloaded by signing up to the site, which I must point out is more trouble than it’s worth. However the car is being officially launched tomorrow so we don’t have too long to wait.
Designed by Aldo Costa at the teams headquarters in Maranello, and said to be completely different to last years title winning F2007, will be launched to 80 journalists tomorrow at the teams Fiorano test circuit. Kimi Raikkonen and Felipe Massa will be flanked by the new team principal Stefano Domenicali and other senior management at the Scuderia.
It will be completely new, even though you can’t make radical changes because of the regulations. The front of the car will be different, as far as the monocoque is concerned, with differently shaped sidepods, and the wing will be new too. Aldo Costa.
Straight after Ferrari’s launch is McLaren’s, now being held at the Mercedes museum in Stuttgart. Following McLaren will be Toyota on Thursday and Force India on Friday. Expect full coverage on BlogF1 on the evening of each launch.
