Like many other people up and down the country, reigning World Champion Fernando Alonso returned to work yesterday, enjoying a tour of McLaren’s impressive Technology Centre in Woking. Although Alonso was able to spend a day last year driving the MP4-21 around the Jerez circuit, it wasn’t until January 1st that he was offical freed from his Renault contract. Alonso also had a final seat-fitting prior to winter testing resuming later in the month, and discussed the testing programme with his engineers while sporting his new, trim haircut.
McLaren are due to launch their 2007 challenger – the MP4-22 – next Monday on the 15th January, just prior to flying out to Spain’s Valencia circuit for the first round of testing.
