I was wondering why the previous post about Bourdais had come alive again – BlogF1 must have some clairvoyants among its readers! But humour aside, French ChampCar ace Sebastien Bourdais is due to test again for Scuderia Toro Rosso, currently planned at the formidable French test track, Paul Ricard. Sebastien last drove a Formula One car back in December of 2006, when he completed a couple of days work for the Italian based team prior to his season start in America. His expected return to the cockpit will only fuel rumours further, some stating that the French driver is going to make the Atlantic crossing full-time for 2008.
Team Boss and former Grand Prix winner Gerhard Berger has insisted that while Bourdais is in strong running for a drive in ’08, nothing has been signed just yet. Sebastien echoed Berger’s sentiment, and while Bourdais was thrilled after his runs in Jerez, knew that he was already contracted to race in the States. 2008 though is a different matter, and last December Sebastien said, “I hope that this test is only the beginning and that it will lead to even more beautiful and greater things.”

Sebastien will drive on Wednesday, and has also been awarded a test in the build up to the Belgian Grand Prix in July.
How many drivers do Red Bull need?!
Surely if Bourdais is to join either RBR or STR then it’s an indication that Scott Speed is heading back over the pond?
If rumours are true of Red Bull also chatting up Vettel and Kubica, plus of course the hordes of young drivers coming through in their driver programmes then they are going to have to buy a few more teams yet to keep them all happy!
They may be able to farm out a couple of drivers to Prodrive next year…
