With just three days to go before the first practice session for the Australian Grand Prix and 2007 season opener, Toyota driver Jarno Trulli has come down with a fever. Jarno was forced miss a planned stop over in Japan for a media conference in front of his teams home journalists while en route to Melbourne, and Jarno is expected to rest before the Grand Prix meeting commences. Trulli had left for Australia with renewed optismism in his Toyota after winter testing showed the new TF107 to be off the pace of its rivals. However, this news will surely put Trulli on the back foot for the weekends race, adding further pressure on Toyota to sort out the team that looks so promising, but fails to deliver time and time again.
I think he should be all right, we’re not too worried. Tsutomu Tomita – Toyota Team Boss.
We have pushed hard over the winter with our testing programme. We had some issues to work on but I am looking forward to this weekend with confidence. Jarno Trulli.
