Speaking to ITV shortly after qualifying, Lewis Hamilton spoke confidently about his chances in tomorrows Spanish Grand Prix. Hinting at a different strategy for the race than team mate Fernando Alonso, Hamilton seemed pleased with his performance, even though he his starting to get very familiar with P4 on the grid. Lewis also spoke of his wish for another excellent start, which from looking at previous starts this year, is perfectly possible.
Obviously we’ve been quickest for a lot of the weekend so far, so to not be 1-2 is a bit of a shame. We had a slightly different strategy than Fernando at least, and I think we’re in good shape for tomorrow. If you work it out, I was just as quick, if not maybe quicker. But we will see. We’ll keep pushing, I’m sure we’ve got a good strategy for tomorrow, and we’re going to have to make sure we do a good job in the first corner again. Lewis Hamilton.
With both McLaren’s on one side of the grid, they should get away nicely and the Ferrari’s will need to concentrate on this area if they are to defend themselves tomorrow. But unless Lewis can get an awesome start, I think he’ll be chasing his fourth successive podium rather than a first win.
