£50 If Jenson Wins 2007 British Grand Prix

Jenson Button - British Grand Prix Helmet DesignIn a bid to improve sales, Silverstone is offering all 2007 British Grand Prix ticket purchasers a £50 rebate if Jenson Button manages to win the event. Currently, tickets have been frozen at £99 for the third year, and according to the Silverstone web site, there are many options available to Formula One fans should they want to attend the event in July next year.

So why has David Coulthard (and potentially Anthony Davidson) been left out of the offer? Whilst David probably won’t win a race next year, you cannot totally rule out the rapidly improving Red Bull squad. I think including all British drivers would make the offer more apealing to a wider market, and it will also show that every British driver is supported equally (by the organisers).

Still, it is a nice incentive and a good idea, although I think following Jenson’s maiden win in Hungary, ticket sales will improve anyway. And if Honda start the 2007 season better than they did this year, then you can bet your bottom dollar that the race will be a sell-out!
